Hunting can be a fun leisure time activity. But oftentimes, it can turn to be deadly. Wandering into the woody unknown often leads to several hazards. Especially if it involves wildlife, the risk factor increases two fold. And this was something a Texas ranch realtor learned the hard way. Trying to hunt down a buffalo, the hunter met a gruesome end.
Hunter Asher Watkins Faces The Wrath Of A Beast
For 52-year-old Asher Watkins, it was yet another normal day out in the woods. For years, Watkins has been hunting down birds and other animals. He even boasted about them on his social media page often. Likewise, Watkins decided to go buffalo hunting this Sunday. Contacting the Coenraad and Vermaak Safari in South Africa, the 52-year-old Texas hunter went on with his plan.

But little did he know about the impending doom that awaited him. Soon after reaching his preferred location, Watkins spotted his hunt. A 1.3 ton Cape buffalo in Limpopo. While the hunter stalked it for quite some time, the beast’s adrenaline suddenly seemed to be kicking in. Without giving Watkins a hint, the buffalo began to charge straight towards the hunter. As soon as it made contact, the 52-year-old had no choice but to surrender.
Gored to death, Watkins met a harrowing fate in the wilderness of South Africa. Confirming his death, the Coenraad and Vermaak Safari said, “It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we confirm the tragic death of our client and friend Asher Watkins from the USA. He was tracking it together with one of our professional hunters and one of our trackers. This is a devastating incident, and our hearts go out to his loved ones.”
Watkins’ family, including his brother Amon, stepdad, and his mother Gwen were waiting at the safari lodge. Having received the news of the heartbreaking incident, the family was shell-shocked. What’s The Gossip prays for Asher Watkins’ soul to Rest In Peace.
