Born Kelley Klebenow, she racked up over 35 screen credits throughout her career. Audiences best knew her as Addy in Season 9 of The Walking Dead, Penelope Jacobs in Season 8 of Chicago Med, and in FOX’s 9-1-1. Throughout her illness, Mack chose to keep her glioma diagnosis private

What Is Glioma?

Glioma is a broad term for tumors that develop in glial cells – non-neuronal cells that play a critical role in supporting and protecting neurons in the brain and spinal cord.

According to the Mayo Clinic, gliomas can vary from slow-growing, noncancerous forms to aggressive, malignant tumors that rapidly damage healthy brain tissue.

Mack’s death has put focus on this rare disease.
