Drake reignited cosmetic surgery speculation over the weekend after posting a shirtless selfie on Instagram, prompting a wave of ridicule and commentary across social media.

On Saturday, the Canadian rapper shared a photo showing off his bare torso, captioned:
“I’m wide awake for the nights that separate the type who get to it til they get it right from the type who just …type.”

Although the photo was meant to showcase his hard work in the gym, online users quickly accused him of undergoing cosmetic enhancements, particularly ab etching, as many felt his six-pack looked a little too perfect.

Brutal Roast

Skeptical followers took to the comments to jokingly speculate about how the rapper achieved his dramatically toned waistline.

One commenter wrote, “Boy stop playing! The only place you ran was to the surgeon.” Another added, “Ordered abs from Temu and forgot to add shoulders and tri lol.”

Critics on X (formerly Twitter) chimed in as well, with one post reading, :I’m not a hater but – bros whole page is about a mirror pic from Drake 😭”

Adding fuel to the speculation, plastic surgery Instagram account @surgeonmade_curves reposted the photo, claiming in the caption that Drake “did it again.”

Drake has faced cosmetic surgery rumors for years – including claims of a Brazilian butt lift and abdominal sculpting – all of which he has repeatedly denied. In April 2024, he addressed the buzz jokingly in a text exchange with his mother, writing, “I would have got us a 2-for-1 deal if I went, ma.”

Diss After Diss

Rival rappers have also used the rumors as ammunition. Kendrick Lamar mocked Drake’s appearance in the diss track Euphoria, rapping: “Let your core audience stomach that, then tell ’em where you get your abs from.”

Rick Ross followed suit, dubbing him “BBL Drizzy” in Champagne Moments, while Pusha T took early shots during their 2018 feud. Metro Boomin even joined in on the joke this year by launching a parody campaign called the “BBLDrizzyBeatGiveaway.”

Drake hasn’t publicly responded to the latest round of backlash, but true to form, he’s previously handled similar criticism with sarcasm rather than direct rebuttals.

Despite the mockery, the selfie went viral within hours, racking up millions of likes and comments – proving once again that when it comes to music, drama, or his image, Drake stays at the center of the conversation.

Last month, Drake called out Canadian politician Jagmeet Singh for attending Kendrick Lamar’s concert in Toronto. Drake called Singh “goof.”
