Cracker Barrel has been the favourite name for millions. And it’s not for just this generation, rather, since 1970s people have resonated with this old country store. However, a sudden decision from the authority of Cracker Barrel had left hearts shattered. But why?

Cracker Barrel started its journey back in 1969. And in 1977, a new logo was attached to rhe store name. Since then decades have passed, but what remained constant was consumers trust on the store and a logo. A logo that resonated with eyes and minds. A logo with which millions of emotions are entangled. But a recent announcement has been made that the old logo would be changed.

Sudden Change in Cracker Barrel Logo Leaves Out Iconic Element

For the last 48 years, Cracker Barrel has had just one logo. In 1969 the store was opened with just a text only logo. But in 1977 an element was added to it. From the text only logo, Cracker Barrel got it’s ‘old man’ touch to it. The iconic element of an old man sitting against the barrel in a wooden chair.

On August 19 an announcement was made from the stakeholders of Cracker Barrel that the iconic logo would be changed. And the biggest change to notice? Removing the old man from it. This has left fans extremely disappointed. The newly launched logo is simple and it just has Cracker Barrel written in black on a yellow barrel-shaped box.

The announcement read,Anchored in Cracker Barrel’s signature gold and brown tones, the updated visuals will appear across menus and marketing collateral, including the fifth evolution of the brand’s logo, which is now rooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape and word mark that started it all.” The company further stated that the newly launched logo is “rooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape and word mark that started it all”.

The new logo was revealed as part of the company’s “All the More” campaign. In the very same campaign Cracker Barrel also introduced new changes to their menu offerings. While the authority are marking this change as ‘new chapter’, people appear quite unpleased with the scenario. And it’s for time to tell how the future would turn out for Cracker Barrel.
