Tristan Rogers Cause of Death: How Did the General Hospital Star Die?

Tristan Rogers breathed his last at the age of 79. The star gained the most popularity among fans as Robert Scorpio Tristan on the General Hospital show. Reports state that he had been suffering from lung cancer.

The sudden news of Rogers’ sad demise left fans heartbroken. It has also cast a shadow over the cast and crew members of the soap opera General Hospital.

Leaving a Void Tristan Rogers Breathed His Last At 79

Meryl Soodak, the man who has been the manager of the actor for the longest time, confirmed the demise of Tristan Rogers. Soodak revealed how despite being a non-smoker Rogers had to succumb to lung cancer. “Meant everything to him,” added the manager.

Frank Valentini, the General Hospital Executive Producer stated, “The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers’ passing.” Valentini further added, “Tristan has captivated our fans for more than 50 years, and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio).” 

The character of Robert Scorpio secured a place in innumerable hearts. Such a news left a void among all. “I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. Tristan was a one-of-a-kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace,” the Executive Producer added.

Portraying the same role of Robert Scorpio Tristan for almost 45 years, the star started living his character. As his manager, Meryl shared, “He loved being Scorpio, and he created that role from nothing.” Revealing about hus dedication and struggle she continued, “He was supposed to work a day, and he ended up making it into something huge. He was just a genuinely loyal, kind human being, and he loved his family.” The work that Rogers has done would indeed make him immortal in his fans’ hearts.
