Set 19 years after the original series, Cursed Child focuses on the next generation of Hogwarts students. First debuting in London’s West End in 2016, it follows the children of Harry, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and Draco as they head off to Hogwarts.
“Full-circle Moment”
The return of Tom Felton is particularly poignant as he is now the same age as his character in the play. He announced the exciting news on the Today show, calling his time in the Harry Potter films “one of the greatest honours” of his life.
“Joining this production feels like a full-circle moment,” he said. “When I step into Cursed Child this fall, I’ll be the same age Draco is in the story.”
This casting is significant as Felton becomes the first actor from the original film series to join the stage adaptation. Producers have praised his contribution, noting that his portrayal brings depth and nostalgia to the character, highlighting Draco’s journey from a conflicted youth to a complex adult facing the challenges of parenthood and legacy.
Tickets for Felton’s run will go on general sale on June 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. ET, with a pre-sale beginning on June 10 at 11 a.m. ET. Fans can sign up for early access through the official Broadway website broadway.harrypottertheplay.com
