General Zod has finally left Earth. Renowned actor Terence Stamp hit the peak of his popularity while playing Zod in Superman films. Portraying the supervillain, Stamp established a legacy that looks unmatched till today.
Unfortunately, all that is now a thing of the past. In a recent update on August 17, the legendary actor has been reported to have passed away. His family later confirmed the news and also shed the cause of his death.
What Happened To Terence Stamp?
Stamp was reportedly 87-year-old at the time of his demise. However, despite the rumors, a clarification on his cause of death has not yet been revealed. And as for his family, they hailed Stamp as a great actor. The family members have also asked to allow them privacy at the time of their mourning.
“He leaves behind an extraordinary body of work, both as an actor and as a writer that will continue to touch and inspire people for years to come,” the statement said, per The Independent. “We ask for privacy at this sad time.”

Now then, while this is indeed a sad day for the Superman fans, Stamp had previously also been involved in a near-death experience. The incident happened almost a decade back in Ukraine. At the time, he was filming for ‘Bitter Harvest.’ Unfortunately, while on the set, a horse accidentally fell on top of him.

The result of the clash was deadly. Stamp suffered a broken pelvis, a couple of ribs, and a ripped tendon on the arm. Stamp also pointed out that had the horse fell on his upper body, he would have died instantly. Surely, while he did survive the attack, he went on to deliver some more classic hits.
