Taylor Swift is back – if only for one electrifying song. Six months after wrapping the final show of her Eras Tour, Taylor Swift stuns fans in Nashville by picking up an acoustic guitar and performing Shake It Off during a benefit concert.

In the Tight Ends & Friends event, part of a charity show for Tight End University, featuring performances from Kane Brown, Chase Rice, and other country stars. Fans had speculated that Swift might attend, especially since her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, was one of the event’s hosts. But few expected her to take the stage.

At the end of Kane Brown’s set, he set the scene for the moment. “Do y’all care if I bring out a really, really, really, really special guest?” he asked the crowd.

Swift Appearance

Swift strode out with a guitar borrowed from Chase Rice and immediately addressed the balcony, where she had been watching the show with Kelce, longtime friend Abigail Anderson Berard, and others.

“You know, the one thing tight ends have in common with Nashville musicians is we’re all friends, right?” she said. “So we’re up there having drinks and thinking, ‘How loud could this place get? Theoretically, how loud could the singing be in here?’ I didn’t have a guitar, but Chase was like, ‘You can use mine.'”

Before launching into her 2014 hit, she gave it a playful twist: “We’d like to dedicate this to our favorite players who are going to play… and these are the tight ends.”

Shoutout to Kane Brown

Halfway through the performance, Swift gave Kane Brown a shoutout for his enthusiastic percussion skills, quipping, “Honestly, have you ever seen a tambourine played like this? This is fantastic work over here by Mr. Kane Brown.”

Brown took the takeover in stride, later joking on Instagram, “When you think you’re the special guest BUT you’re not,” alongside a photo of himself with Swift and Kelce.

As she wrapped up, Swift praised the band’s quick thinking. “Will you please give it up for this amazing band who just figured out that we were going to play that three minutes ago?”

Unsurprisingly, as Taylor Swift stuns fans, nearly all 1,200 attendees had their phones up and within minutes, social media could witness the electric moment from every angle.

Here’s one of them.
