Post Malone’s Big A*s Stadium Tour took a dramatic turn when he fell off the stage mid-performance. While performing Pour Me a Drink at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Saturday (June 29), Malone knelt to toast a front-row fan who raised her plastic cup. As he leaned in, a section of the stage gave way beneath him.
Malone suddenly dropped out of view as the platform collapsed, as captured in fan-filmed footage that quickly went viral.
The Grammy-nominated artist (born Austin Post) jumped back onstage moments later. He kept singing, lifted his cup to finish the toast, and earned a thunderous cheer from the crowd.
Not the First Fall
This isn’t Post Malone’s first onstage mishap. During a St. Louis concert in September 2022, he fell through a trap door and suffered bruised ribs, landing him in the hospital and forcing him to cancel a Boston show days later. A month later, he twisted his ankle after stepping into a pyrotechnic hole onstage in Atlanta. He pushed through the show but later confirmed the injury to fans.
Post Malone rose to fame in 2016 with his breakout single White Iverson and has since shifted his sound. Last year, he returned to his Texas roots with a full country set at Southern California’s Stagecoach Festival and released his debut country album, F-1 Trillion, in August. Though he still performs his chart-topping rap hits, his current tour reflects his evolving country aesthetic.
His latest tour, featuring support from Nashville star Jelly Roll, kicked off in April in Salt Lake City and has visited 26 cities so far. Malone’s San Francisco show on Tuesday marks his first Bay Area appearance since performing at Mountain View’s Shoreline Amphitheatre last August.
The singer did not have any serious injury, but singing the lyrics “and I’ll be breaking my back” and then falling off the stage is funny.
