Sony got a head start on this year’s summer gaming season by dropping a new PlayStation State of Play showcase on Wednesday. The gaming giant unveiled a lineup of upcoming titles and hardware for the PlayStation 5 and PS VR2.
The PlayStation State of Play showcase featured a mix of first-party exclusives, third-party collaborations, and indie games, highlighting Sony’s commitment to a broad gaming ecosystem.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls: Developed by Arc System Works, this 4v4 tag fighter features iconic Marvel characters and is set for a 2026 release on PS5.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles: A remastered version of the classic tactical RPG, updated with enhanced visuals and gameplay.
Lumines Arise: Enhance Games announced this new entry in the Lumines puzzle series, coming to PS5 and PS VR2 in fall 2025.
Pragmata, Nioh and more!
Other major titles included Pragmata, Capcom’s long-awaited sci-fi action game. The demo of Nioh 3, the next installment in the Nioh series is available on PS5. A new entry in the Silent Hill franchise, Silent Hill f will be out in September,.
Sony showcased new footage from the remake of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. It also revealed a remastered version of the action RPG Bloodborne, promising upgraded visuals and improved performance.
Another exciting announcement was Ghost of Tsushima: Spirit of Iki, an expansion or new chapter in the acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima series. The Bloodstained series will continue with a new sequel, Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, set to launch in 2026.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger is a new RPG in the Digimon franchise, scheduled for release on October. The trailer for 007: First Light was unveiled by IO Interactive for this James Bond origin story game, set for a 2026 release.
Marvel introduced a new installment in the Spider-Man franchise titled Spider-Man: Dark Web. This featured new narratives and gameplay elements.
Among the Hardware and VR, Sony introduced Project Defiant, an official fight stick for competitive players. It also announced Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow, a new VR experience for PS VR2, expanding Sony’s virtual reality offerings.
