Megan Thee Stallion finally addressed her romance with Klay Thompson as the couple stepped out for the first time in public at the inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City.
The rapper said on the red carpet, “I’ve never dated someone so kind. This is my first relationship with someone who’s genuinely a nice person – and he makes me genuinely happy.”
“I’ve just never experienced this kind of relationship before,” she added. “I’m so grateful he’s by my side, and knowing he feels the same way means everything.”
PDA on the Carpet
The couple sparked dating rumors earlier this month after Megan subtly featured Thompson in the background of one of her sultry Instagram posts. They arrived hand-in-hand, shared laughs, posed closely for photos, and even shared a sweet kiss before entering the venue.
Before stepping away for solo photos, Thompson paused to give Megan a quick smooch, sealing their red carpet moment with affection.
Megan Celebrates a Personal Milestone
While debuting her new relationship, Megan also celebrated a major career milestone with the gala’s launch. She beamed with pride as she spoke about honoring her late parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete III, through the Pete & Thomas Foundation.
The event raised funds for programs supporting education, housing, and health and wellness – all causes close to Megan’s heart.
The gala drew other big names as well, including Fat Joe, Muni Long, and Taraji P. Henson, who hosted the evening.
Romance Goes Public
Thompson made the relationship Instagram-official last weekend by posting photos of the couple kissing and holding hands on vacation. Megan followed up by sharing a since-deleted TikTok of herself sitting on Thompson’s lap while showing off gifts he’d given her, referring to him as “[her] man.”
Despite their glam appearance on Wednesday, Megan revealed that she and Thompson had spent the earlier part of the week relaxing at home watching Love Island USA.
“He’s the real Love Island fan,” she joked, referring to the NBA star’s love for the dating reality show. Megan previously appeared as a guest on the series in Season 7.
