Diddy’s former chef says she fears for her safety after a Manhattan jury acquitted the rapper of the most serious charges in his federal sex crimes case. Jourdan Atkinson, who claims she was both a victim of Combs’ physical abuse and a witness to his violence, has publicly condemned the verdict and expressed deep concern about what comes next.
Atkinson joined several government witnesses in writing to the judge presiding over Diddy’s case, urging him to deny the rapper bail while he awaits sentencing. Diddy’s legal team had requested his release following his conviction on lesser charges related to the transportation of individuals for prostitution.
Judge Arun Subramanian denied bail, citing mandatory detention under the law and pointing to Diddy’s history of domestic violence as a factor in his decision.
Updates on Instagram
Atkinson posted videos on Instagram, along with a copy of a subpoena she received from the Southern District of New York, which compelled her to testify before a grand jury in April 2024. She revealed that federal agents had visited her home in March, but she initially refused to speak with them out of fear.
Diddy’s former chef said federal prosecutors eventually subpoenaed her, and shortly afterward, one of his attorneys called and texted her. She shared a screenshot of a message in which the attorney acknowledged law enforcement contact and asked if she needed legal representation.
Atkinson said she was scheduled to testify at the trial on May 20 in New York but was pulled from the witness list after she “flipped out on the government.” Though she did not testify, she was part of the witness pool and remains deeply affected by the case.
I am a Victim
In one video, Atkinson said, “I want to be clear, as a victim, as a former employee of Sean Combs, I do not feel safe. I am extremely traumatized. I do not know where to go from here.”
She also described the emotional toll of the past 18 months in a letter addressed to Judge Subramanian, writing, “This past year and a half has been traumatizing. This verdict is devastating. I fear for my safety upon his release.”
Atkinson also alleged that during her time working for Diddy, he physically abused her and that she witnessed him abuse his longtime girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who served as the prosecution’s star witness.
