Child actor Millena Brandão, who was known for her work on the Netflix teen drama Sintonia, died on May 2 after suffering multiple cardiac arrests. Doctors initially misdiagnosed the 11-year-old with dengue fever. Her condition deteriorated rapidly, leading to at least 13 cardiac arrests and multiple respiratory failures.
Her health issues began on April 24 with severe headaches, leg pain, drowsiness, and loss of appetite. Doctors later identified a urinary tract infection and suspected a brain tumor, though this remains unconfirmed.

Millena never regained consciousness after her initial cardiac arrest, and her parents made the difficult decision to remove her from life support due to her irreversible condition. Her official cause of death is still under investigation.
The Brazilian municipal and state health departments are reportedly investigating whether there were any irregularities in Millena’s medical care.
The Brandãos Grieve
The Brazilian actress’ parents, Thays and Luiz Brandão, announced her death over the weekend on social media and spoke with a local news outlet, G1. They described the final days of their daughter’s life.
“The memories we spent together will stay in my memory,” wrote her mother, Thays, “and I’ll never forget your joy that infected everyone around you. My girl, I’m already missing you more and more not having you here, and I know I’ll miss you even more in the days to come! You were the light in our lives, and I know that from up there you’ll continue to watch over us and light up our lives.”
“And I’ll love you forever,” she added, “and you’ll always be in my heart.”
Millena Brandão began her acting career in 2023, appearing in productions such as A Infância de Romeu e Julieta and A Caverna Encantada, and had amassed nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram.
