They also released a performance video for their song “Sunset Blvd..,” filmed in their Los Angeles home.
All this after the announcement of their engagement in December 2024 and have expressed a desire to enjoy their time together without rushing into wedding planning. Their decision to forgo the Met Gala aligns with their current focus on personal projects and spending quality time together.
What happened in 2018?
Gomez experienced a self-described beauty mishap involving overly dark tanning lotion. In an interview with Glamour UK, the singer explained how a tanning lotion backfired on her at the 2018 Met Gala.
“While I was getting ready for the Met Gala a few years ago, we put on a bit of tanning lotion and it looked beautiful, but as the night went on it kept getting darker and darker,” she said. “When I sat down, I saw a photo of myself, and it looked completely orange. And here I am at this prestigious event. My first thought was, ‘I have to get out of here!’”
Gomez did see the funny side of the mishap. She posted footage of herself leaving on Instagram that night, captioning it, “Me when I saw my pictures from MET 🤷🏽♀️”
