Travis Kelce opened up about his relationship with Taylor Swift. The NFL star revealed that the pop star reminded him of someone who means the world to him: His mother. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end said Swift and his mother, Donna Kelce, share “kindness and genuineness” and an “ability to say hello to everyone in the room.”
“Their ability to show love and support no matter what,” Kelce said in his interview with GQ. “And on top of that, their work ethic.”
“I’ve seen Taylor do the exact same thing-set goals for herself, exceed expectations, and captivate the world in that regard,” he added. Donna Kelce had worked in banking before transitioning to acting. She appeared in the 2024 Hallmark films, Christmas on Call and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.
Kelce and his mother have a close relationship. Earlier this year, she even joked that Kelce “didn’t have any girlfriends” before his current relationship with Taylor Swift.

Kelce, who has been dating Swift since 2023, also addressed the heightened media scrutiny their relationship attracts. He admitted he struggles to ignore negative press or criticism from fans.
“I don’t want anyone to say anything negative about me. Some people don’t give a f**k. I’m someone who does care,” Kelce explained.
Kelce also described the physical demands of Swift’s Eras Tour as “mind-blowing” and said it gave him a new appreciation for her stamina. He also noted the extreme conditions performers face.
“Take that into Singapore, where it’s scorching hot, and you’re feeling the fumes from the computer and the sun while doing a three-hour show with full energy, every single song. That’s arguably more exhausting than what I do on a Sunday, and she’s doing it three, four, five days in a row.”
New Swift Album
Her previous album, 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department, coincided with the end of her record-breaking Eras Tour, which sold an estimated $2.2 billion in tickets and became the highest-grossing tour of all time for two years straight.
