Taylor Swift reportedly paused all professional obligations to be by her father’s side during a serious medical emergency. A day after news broke that Scott Swift underwent quintuple bypass surgery last month, a source close to the family revealed new details about Taylor’s unwavering support.
According to a report on Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop, the Grammy-winning singer immediately prioritized her family and stayed at the hospital throughout her father’s procedure. A family friend told the outlet that Taylor “camped out” at the hospital alongside her mother, Andrea, and brother, Austin.
Taylor’s representative confirmed to TMZ that Scott underwent a heart procedure over a month ago. The rep clarified that a heart attack didn’t trigger the surgery but was necessary due to several “urgent blockages.” A friend described Scott’s health scare as “terrifying” but said the family thankfully “caught it in time.”
According to reports, Scott and Andrea went in for a routine check-up when doctors noticed concerning signs that eventually led to the life-saving quintuple bypass surgery. The 73-year-old is now reportedly recovering well with his family by his side.
