NBC has pulled the plug on Suits LA, ending the spin-off after just one season. The final episode of the 13-episode run will air on May 18. The decision means the legal drama will not return for a second season.
“Suits LA” continued the Suits universe with Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a former New York federal prosecutor rebuilding his career in Los Angeles. He worked at Black Lane, a law firm he co-founded with criminal defense attorney Stuart Lane, played by Josh McDermitt. Ted faced personal and professional challenges, including a crisis at the firm and a past he tried to escape.
The main cast also included Lex Scott Davis, Bryan Greenberg, and Victoria Justice, with appearances from Gabriel Macht. Despite its star power and ties to the original show, Suits LA failed to impress viewers.
Low Ratings and Scheduling Constraints Seal The Fate Of ‘Suits LA’
The series struggled in the ratings from the start. Averaging a 0.17 rating in the key 18–49 demographic and drawing about 1.49 million viewers each week, the show ranked as NBC’s second-lowest-rated program of the season. Even cameos from original Suits stars, including Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, and David Costabile, couldn’t lift the numbers.
NBC had hoped to capitalize on the renewed interest in Suits, which experienced a resurgence in popularity after hitting Netflix during the pandemic. That streaming success had prompted NBCUniversal to develop Suits LA, but the spin-off failed to recreate the magic of its predecessor.

Another factor in the cancellation was the network’s crowded upcoming schedule. NBC plans to air more NBA games during the 2025-26 season, limiting space for scripted programming. That made underperforming shows like Suits LAvulnerable.
The cancellation also marks the second failed attempt at extending the Suits franchise. Pearson, another spin-off starring Gina Torres, was axed in 2019 after just one season on USA Network.
Alongside Suits LA, NBC also cancelled four other shows: Found, The Irrational, Lopez vs Lopez, and Night Court. The full primetime lineup for the 2025-26 season will be announced soon. For now, Suits LA joins a growing list of spin-offs that couldn’t carry the legacy of their parent series.
