Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson have split up, even before they could have been a couple. The duo sparked public intrigue with their rumored romance in recent weeks, but new reports reveal there was never a relationship to begin with – and therefore, no breakup to discuss.
Rob Shuter reported that Anderson and Neeson staged flirtatious red carpet moments as part of a coordinated publicity push for their film The Naked Gun. Insiders connected to the movie claimed the so-called “romance” was pure marketing designed to sell tickets.
“On camera, their chemistry was real. Off camera, it was strictly business,” a source said. “Pamela Anderson is a pro, Liam Neeson is a pro – they knew leaning into the rumors would get attention.”
The campaign included media stunts, such as Neeson declaring on Today that he was “madly in love” and giving the fans a “Titanic moment” as they recreated cinema’s most famous ship scene in Germany.
Neeson’s son, Daniel, described the romance as something genuinely special. “They have shared really beautiful chemistry on screen, as you can see. They really, really admire each other, especially from their working experience, and you can see that on the screen.”
End of Romance
Their joint appearances at press stops and red carpets fueled speculation, but those sightings stopped as soon as the movie premiered.
“That’s because there was no relationship to begin with,” an insider explained. “It was clever marketing. People want to believe in romance, and Hollywood knows love stories move tickets.”
A studio executive confirmed the strategy: “This wasn’t about Pam finding love or Liam moving on. It was about box office buzz, plain and simple.”
