This revelation surfaces as reports indicate the couple is experiencing a rough patch in their relationship. The Roar hitmaker joined the all-female crew comprising Aisha Bowe, Lauren Sanchez, Kerianne Flynn, Gayle King, and Amanda Nguyen on April 15.
Although Perry publicly claimed Bloom supported her “journey,” insiders say he privately considered it “a bad idea” and felt “disappointed” expecting public backlash. The incident seems to have intensified existing tensions between the couple, who share a four-year-old daughter. Sources say Bloom feels excluded and believes Perry no longer values his input.
Since beginning their relationship in 2016, the pair has navigated ups and downs, and the spaceflight appears to have deepened the strain between them. The 48-year-old actor has repeatedly been spending time alone and arrived without Perry at the “Deep Cover” premiere during the 2025 Tribeca Festival on June 10 in New York City.
Blue Origin Was The End
After completing her 11-minute all-female spaceflight aboard Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin, Katy Perry praised her fiancé Orlando Bloom during a radio interview, saying he was “all about the journey.”
However, a source told The U.S. Sun that Bloom did not support the trip. “From day one, Orlando didn’t think going on the Blue Origin mission was a good idea,” the insider said. “He always thought it was a stupid idea and believed she wouldn’t gain anything positive from it.”
Meanwhile, Perry has faced criticism from environmentalists and celebrities, including Emily Ratajkowski and Olivia Munn, who called the mission wasteful and hypocritical due to its environmental impact. The backlash, alongside the lukewarm reception to her recent album and tour, may be adding further tension to her relationship with Bloom.
