Nicki Minaj and SZA are at each other’s throats. The unexpected feud on X (formerly Twitter) escalated rapidly from cryptic subtweets to outright insults. It all kicked off on July 15 when SZA posted a vague message, sparking a full-blown showdown between the two.
Nicki called out rapper Punch, president of Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), SZA’s label, accusing him of bullying her on Twitter. Punch hasn’t addressed the claim publicly.
“So glad I have proof of being bullied and lied on by a man publicly,” Nicki wrote on X on July 15. “All because I rejected his business proposition more than once.”
Soon after, SZA posted a cryptic message of her own: “Mercury retrograde.. don’t take the bait lol silly goose.”
Nicki Goes Berserk
Though SZA didn’t name names, Nicki took it personally. She fired back: “Go draw your freckles back on, bookie.”
Nicki continued criticizing SZA, taking aim at both her appearance and artistic credibility. “B**ch looking & sounding like she got stung by a f**king bee,” she wrote in one post. “Dot dot dot Draws on my fake freckles.”
She also questioned the legitimacy of SZA’s recent success. Nicki accused her of gaming the charts by releasing a deluxe version of SOS just to break records.
“B**ch put out a whole new album as a deluxe to an already existing album… I thought she was like a real artist? Girl, bye,” Nicki posted.
Though SZA didn’t respond directly to the comments, she made her stance clear when a fan warned her about an incoming attack from Nicki’s fanbase, the Barbz.
“I get bullied by millions online every day, then step my ass out on a packed stadium tour where people show me REAL love. IN REAL LIFE,” SZA tweeted.
“My parents are healthy, and I’m the most successful I’ve ever been. GET SOME F**KING PERSPECTIVE n BARK AT THE WALL!!!”
No End in Sight
Even as SZA seemed to sign off from the beef, Nicki Minaj returned for more jabs, “Shutup ugly. #JusticeForDemoree. I’m in a meeting so idk if u was still talking s**t or not so if you didn’t I’ll delete later. Hoe.”
Further posting a series of insults, she signed off saying, “It was fun.”
The beef between Nicki Minaj and SZA may fizzle out or… not.
