He was assisted by six young students and graduates of a local art school, creating a collaborative tribute that involved 35 people total. The same artist previously immortalized Shakira in bronze, establishing himself as Barranquilla’s go-to sculptor for Colombian icons.

While Sofía celebrated her birthday surrounded by friends and family on the Italian island of Sardinia, her hometown unveiled this permanent testament to her global impact.
