Cheating CEOs have nothing to fear at Oasis concerts, according to frontman Liam Gallagher. Taking a jab at Coldplay, he assured his audience that he will not look back at anger at unfaithful fans.
“Do we have any lovebirds in the house?” Gallagher asked fans during the band’s Sunday show in England. “Don’t worry, we ain’t got any of that Coldplay, snidey f**king camera shit. It doesn’t matter to us who you’re f**king mingling with, or tingling with or fingering with. None of our f**king business.”
Liam Gallagher was mocking the recent viral moment from a Coldplay concert, where Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was caught on the jumbotron cozying up to an employee. When the couple appeared on the big screen at a Massachusetts arena, they quickly separated and turned away, fueling rumors of an affair.
Chris Martin added fuel to the fire mid-show, joking, “Oh look at these two. Uh oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”
Meme Economy Strong
The clip spread like wildfire online, racking up hundreds of millions of views. Byron ultimately resigned amid the backlash. “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,” Astronomer said in a statement. “That standard was not met.” The board accepted Byron’s resignation and named Pete DeJoy interim CEO.
Internet users reacted to the viral video by posting an array of memes, jokes – and outright misinformation.
A post on X claiming to show an apology from Astronomer’s CEO – addressed to “my family, my wife, and our wonderful employees” – racked up millions of views. The fake statement also joked, “I am a Coldplay fan. And not just of the first two albums. I also like the recent stuff.”
