The rumor mill says that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are reportedly nearing a breakup. The couple, who share a 5-year-old daughter named Daisy Dove, have allegedly called off their engagement but plan to delay the public announcement until Perry wraps up her world tour.
Perry is currently headlining her Lifetimes tour, which began on April 23 and runs through December 7. The couple met in 2016 at a Golden Globes after-party and got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, on August 26, 2020.
Sources told People that the lukewarm reception of Perry’s new album 143 has created tension in their relationship. “Katy felt deeply frustrated after the album’s reception,” one insider said. “It caused her a lot of stress. Orlando tried to be supportive, but it definitely added pressure between them.”
Another source added, “She felt let down by some of the tour reviews, which also strained their relationship.”
Insiders also spotted Bloom spending time alone in Miami, Florida last month.
Not the first breakup
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom previously broke up for a year in 2017. Perry addressed the split on Call Her Daddy in 2024, explaining, “We weren’t really in it from day one. He was, because he had just gone through a long period of celibacy and had set clear intentions. I had just come out of another relationship and felt overwhelmed. I needed a change, but I had to do a lot of real work on myself.”
The couple has spoken publicly about attending couples therapy.
In 2023, Bloom opened up about their challenges in Flaunt, saying, “We work in very different worlds. Her pool isn’t one I fully understand, and mine isn’t one she fully gets either.”
“Sometimes it’s really, really challenging. I won’t lie – we struggle with emotions and creativity,” he admitted. “But we both know how lucky we are to have found each other when we did. There’s never a dull moment.”
Despite the tension, Bloom and their daughter recently supported Perry during her 11-minute edge-of-space journey aboard an all-female Blue Origin flight. Perry kissed the ground after landing.
