Jeffrey Epstein’s name came back into the spotlight. But not the way anyone expected. A vanished list. A deleted tweet. And Jon Stewart holding court in the middle of it. On The Daily Show, Stewart didn’t waste a breath before ridiculing Trump’s role in the Epstein file drama.
He paused mid-monologue and turned his full focus on the missing Epstein documents. “Is it really?” Stewart scoffed, mimicking former Trump official Pam Bondi. Then he threw in a frantic impression, “The list is on my desk! No, wait—no list!” The joke wasn’t just for laughs. Stewart hinted at foul play. His tone said it all. He thinks something shady went down.
Comedian Jon Stewart slams DOJ flip-flop after Elon Musk’s bold accusation
The moment hit just days after Elon Musk reignited the Epstein fire. In June, Musk fired off a now-deleted tweet, “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.” Stewart didn’t let that slide. Instead, he connected Musk’s bold claim with Trump’s odd reluctance to declassify the files. The Daily Show even played a clip from Trump’s 2024 interview, where he awkwardly danced around the question.

Stewart’s team didn’t stop there. They flashed the infamous old photo. Trump grinning beside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Then Stewart drove it home. The Justice Department had recently said no list exists. But Bondi previously claimed there was a list. So what changed? Stewart didn’t say it outright. He didn’t need to. His mockery made the message clear.
Trump brushed it all off last month in an NBC interview. “Old news,” he said, calling it recycled gossip. He even claimed Epstein’s own lawyer had cleared him. But Stewart’s timing made Trump’s defense look weak. Especially with Musk throwing punches online just weeks before.
The feud between Trump and Musk may have fizzled fast. But Stewart lit it up again. And this time, it wasn’t about politics or policy. It was about a list that’s supposedly gone, a billionaire calling it out, and a comedian refusing to let the silence slide.
