The new web series, “The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox” that had been released on Hulu has created quite the buzz. But this story finds it’s roots in reality. Such a piece of information has made fans extremely curious about what’s the story behind this content. And where is the real Amanda Knox now?
The series has premiered its first two episodes on Hulu. The crime thriller documentary based on a real legal case has created curiosity among fans. Grace Van Patten is playing the role of Knox in the series. K.J. Steinberg is the director of the eight-episode drama series. The executive producer is Monica Lewinsky. Moreover, it is co-produced by Knox herself.
The real incident traces back to 2007. Back then, Amanda Knox, just a young college student was accused of a lethal crime. Knox was accused of brutally murdering her British roommate, Meredith Kercher, while studying abroad. And this drama series is a retelling of that legal case from Knox’s perspective.

In the series Giuseppe De Domenico is being cast in the role of Amanda Knox’ boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito. In the legal case Sollecito too was entangled and was accused of convicting the murder with Knox. However, the true story had a different face.
After being convicted Amanda spent four long years in an Italian prison while she continued to fight for herself. Knox shared the apartment with Kercher where one day Kercher’s body was found. She was sexually assaulted and was brutally killed. Knox was held by police authorities for 53 long hours for constant enquiry and interrogation and she did not even have a legal counsel present with her.

Under that scenario Amanda Knox put a false accusation on her boss Lumumba who was imprisoned alongside Knox and her the then boyfriend Sollecito. However Lumumba was released depending on an alibi. What followed was a series of legal hearings and despite several twist and turns in the case Amanda Knox did not her bail.
However, finally in 2011, Amanda Knox and Sollecito appealed their convictions. And they got the bail. They got freed and returned to US facing extreme scrutiny amd backlash.
