A dog groomer in Mooresville, North Carolina, has been fired after a disturbing video surfaced online, allegedly showing her abusing animals at work. Another staff member recorded the video, which quickly went viral and has sparked outrage across social media.

The footage appears to show the dog groomer at Classy Critters Resort and Spa punching a dog and slamming another against a grooming table. In another video, she is seen pushing the dog’s head away from the wall where its leash is attached, and then punching the dog in the face. A third video shows another dog struggling in her care as the employee punches it several times.

Owner responds

The owner of Classy Critters, identified only as Pam, addressed the incident in a heartfelt Facebook post.

“This behavior is totally unacceptable, and it was addressed immediately. This employee no longer works at Classy Critters,” she wrote. “I have zero tolerance for any type of abuse toward the animals in my care. I’ve made this clear to all my employees.”

Pam emphasized her lifelong dedication to animal care, saying she’s been in the business for over 40 years and that her team gives “120% love” to the pets they work with.

“I absolutely love what I do. I care deeply for every animal that comes through our doors, and it breaks my heart that this happened,” she continued, “I hope people don’t judge the entire Classy Critters team based on the actions of one bad egg.”

Following the incident, Pam reported the former employee to local police and Iredell County Animal Services, which has since launched an investigation. Authorities have confirmed they are taking the allegations seriously, even though they have not made any arrests yet.

The viral video prompted users to launch a Change.org petition demanding the grooming facility’s closure. As of now, more than 5,500 people have signed.

The investigation remains ongoing.
