Demi Lovato and Jonas Brothers may reunite for Camp Rock 3, the third installment of Disney Channel’s hit film series. Speculation took off after Lovato made a surprise appearance at a Jonas Brothers concert and performed songs from the movies.

Lovato shocked fans in New Jersey when she joined the Jonas Brothers on stage during their JONAS20 tour. The pair, who played onscreen love interests and briefly dated in 2010, reunited to sing the movie’s hits “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”

Joe told the crowd it had been “almost 10 years” since they’d performed the songs, while Demi joked, “It might have been longer.”

Then there is this cute reel of the duo.

Brief Romance

Joe and Demi met on the Camp Rock set in 2007, but started dating much later. They confirmed their romance in March 2010, only to split less than 48 hours after Teen Vogue released their joint cover that June.

Demi addressed the breakup in a 2013 interview with ABC’s Nightline News, admitting, “We were in a relationship and we broke up, and at one point, I was really mad at him.”

Lovato is now married to artist and songwriter Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, while Joe Jonas was married to Sophie Turner. He shares two daughters with the Game of Thrones star, who, by the way, is enjoying her singledom and shutting down trolls online.

Joe Jonas also dated Taylor Swift, while Selena Gomez dated Nick. The two women bonded after the breakup and have remained besties 16 years later.

Camp Rock 3 Confirmed?

Disney has not confirmed whether Camp Rock 3 is happening, but rumors say it’s in the works. In June, industry insider Daniel RPK reported that Disney is moving forward with the film.

According to Daniel, Tim Federle (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) will be the executive producer, and Fuller House writer Eydie Faye will pen the script.

Demi Lovato and Jonas Brothers star in Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. Lovato plays Mitchie Torres, while the Jonas trio of Joe, Nick, and Kevin portrays members of the band Connect 3. Although Lovato appeared in other Disney Channel projects before Camp Rock, the films catapulted her to stardom – and gave the Jonas Brothers a major boost in popularity.
