Bruno Mars is poking fun at the rumors surrounding his alleged financial issues. The singer made a surprise appearance at BLACKPINK’s concert in Los Angeles on Sunday, joining Rosé on stage to perform “APT.”
The next day, Bruno posted a video of his on-stage moment to Instagram, captioning it: “Almost out of debt BehhhhhBehhhhh!!! Preciate You ROSAAAAYYYYYY!!!!”
The cheeky caption appears to reference an unconfirmed rumor that surfaced last year, claiming Bruno had accumulated a large gambling debt of around $50 million during his residency at MGM Resorts in Las Vegas.
MGM denied the claims soon after they began circulating.
“We’re proud of our relationship with Bruno Mars, one of the world’s most thrilling and dynamic performers,” the company said. “MGM and Bruno’s partnership is longstanding and rooted in mutual respect. Any speculation otherwise is completely false; he has no debt with MGM. Together, we are excited to continue creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.”
Not the First Time
Monday’s social media post wasn’t the first time the 16-time Grammy winner poked fun at the rumor. Back in late January, Mars celebrated a major music milestone by reposting Spotify’s announcement that he had become the first artist in history to reach 150 million monthly listeners. He cheekily captioned it, “Keep streaming! I’ll be out of debt in no time!”
While Mars has made a few lighthearted comments himself, he’s mostly allowed MGM Resorts International to handle the public denials regarding his alleged debt.
Jennie Criticism
The clip, filmed at their Seoul concert on July 5, shows Jennie seemingly dealing with a wardrobe issue while performing Forever Young.
Some viewers have accused her of being rude, claiming her tone and body language came off as dismissive. Others, however, defended Jennie, saying it was likely a quick, heat-of-the-moment response during a high-pressure live performance.
