It ends with this? Not quite, but Blake Lively did seek to drop her claims that co-star Justin Baldoni caused her emotional distress during the filming of their 2024 movie, It Ends With Us, as per court documents.
The unexpected move from Lively to withdraw her allegations of “intentional infliction of emotional distress” and “negligent infliction of emotional distress” linked to Baldoni’s alleged behavior after Baldoni’s legal team requested that Lively sign a release allowing them access to her medical and mental health records to substantiate her emotional distress allegations. Lively’s attorneys have declined this request.
The Gossip Girl’s legal team is seeking to dismiss the claims without prejudice, allowing for the possibility of refiling them in the future. Baldoni’s team, however, insists on a dismissal with prejudice to prevent future litigation on these specific claims.
Other Allegations
Despite withdrawing these particular claims, Blake Lively continues to pursue other allegations against Baldoni, including sexual harassment and retaliation, and is seeking substantial damages for causing her “severe emotional distress and pain, humiliation, embarrassment, belittlement, frustration, and mental anguish” in her high-profile sexual harassment lawsuit.
The filing details a “hands-on” meeting involving Lively, Baldoni, and the film’s production team to address his alleged behavior, which included showing her “nude videos or images of women” and discussing his past addiction to pornography.
She also claimed that Baldoni launched a smear campaign aimed at damaging her reputation after she reported the alleged harassment.
Baldoni has denied all accusations and has filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation and extortion. He also responded to the claims about discussing his past porn addiction, stating he only brought it up after Lively allegedly shared her own experience. He also claimed that Lively was “very close and comfortable” around him, noting that she would “freely breastfeed in front of him during meetings.”
The legal dispute is scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.
