BLACKPINK’s Jennie is facing online backlash after a viral video from the group’s Deadline World Tour appeared to show her brushing off a stage crew member during a performance. The clip, filmed at their Seoul concert on July 5, shows Jennie seemingly dealing with a wardrobe issue while performing Forever Young.
Struggling with her shoe mid-performance, Jennie gestures toward her shoe, and a stage staffer approaches to help, but Jennie’s brief interaction with them has sparked mixed reactions. It wasn’t the mishap that caught attention; it was her allegedly sharp attitude while instructing the crew.
Some viewers have accused her of being rude, claiming her tone and body language came off as dismissive. Others, however, defended BLACKPINK’s Jennie, saying it was likely a quick, heat-of-the-moment response during a high-pressure live performance.
Fans Express Disappointment
As the video continues to circulate, many fans have taken to platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to voice their disappointment. Some questioned her treatment of the workers and fans. A few went as far as to resort to unnecessary name-calling towards Jennie.
The incident occurred during the kickoff of BLACKPINK’s Deadline World Tour in Goyang, South Korea – the group’s first major tour together since pursuing solo projects. The tour is set to run through January 2026, with shows scheduled in cities like Los Angeles, Paris, London, and Jakarta.
Despite the controversy, the tour is off to a strong start with sold-out shows and star-studded attendance. Celebrities like BTS’s J-Hope, Red Velvet’s Irene and Seulgi, TWICE’s Jihyo, and SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu were spotted at the Seoul concert.
As of now, Jennie hasn’t commented publicly on the clip.
