Legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick is speaking out for the first time after his now-viral interview with CBS Sunday Morning, and defending his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.
In a recent CBS Sunday Morning interview intended to promote his new book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from a Life in Football, Bill Belichick faced controversy when his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, interrupted a question about their relationship’s origins.

During the interview, the interviewer, Dokoupil, asked how Belichick, 73, met the 24-year-old Hudson, she spoke up – sitting off-camera – to say, “We’re not talking about this.” In the segment, Dokoupil said in a voiceover, “It’s a topic neither of them is comfortable commenting on.”
Belichick explained that Hudson redirected the conversation because the interview was meant to focus solely on his book.
Belichick’s Statement
In a statement provided by UNC Chapel Hill, Belichick criticized CBS for editing the segment in a way that misrepresented Hudson’s intentions, suggesting she was attempting to control the conversation, which he claimed was not true.
”I preferred to keep the conversation centered on the book,” Belichick’s statement continued. “After this occurred several times, Jordon, with whom I share both a personal and professional relationship, stepped in to reiterate that point to help refocus the discussion.”
The statement claimed the segment used selectively edited clips to falsely suggest that Jordon Hudson was trying to control the interview, which it said was untrue.
CBS denied setting any preconditions for the interview and asserted that they had clearly communicated its wide-ranging nature to Belichick’s publisher, Simon & Schuster.
The incident has sparked widespread media attention, with discussions about the dynamics of Belichick and Hudson’s relationship and her influence on his professional life.
The couple’s relationship continues to attract public attention. Recently, Hudson wore a sparkling ring on her engagement finger, sparking engagement rumors.
