Amanda Bynes has decided to start using Ozempic to lose weight and look better in paparazzi photos. In an Instagram video posted to her account, she provided updates on her life and revealed her weight-loss goals.
“I’m going on Ozempic, and I’m excited about it,” said Bynes. “I am 173 now, so I hope to get down to 130.”
The 39-year-old explained her motivation, expressing a desire to appear more flattering in candid photos. “That would be awesome, so I would look better in paparazzi pictures. And you don’t see my double chin from strange angles,” she said, adding that she plans to share her Ozempic journey online.

Back in April, the former child actor announced plans to launch an OnlyFans account. She clarified that she would not post explicit content and intended to use the platform solely to interact with fans at a $50 monthly subscription fee.
Mental Health Struggles
Bynes remains active on social media, and she has been open about her mental health struggles. She struggled with body image issues since her early acting days. In a 2018 interview with Paper magazine, she opened up about feeling increasingly uncomfortable with her appearance. She revealed that filming She’s the Man had a profound effect on her and sent her into a “deep depression”.
Bynes began experimenting with drugs and admitted to trying ecstasy and cocaine. Her desire to lose weight eventually led to an addiction to Adderall. She also experienced renewed struggles with body image while working on Hall Pass and Easy A in 2010. These challenges ultimately pushed her to step away from acting, and she decided to retire from the industry.
In 2013, she was admitted to a mental hospital after she was found wandering naked on the streets of Los Angeles.
Amanda Bynes first rose to fame at age 10 on Nickelodeon’s All That in 1996, followed by The Amanda Show in 1999. Her early success earned her a spot on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list in 2003 and three consecutive Kids’ Choice Awards for Favorite Female TV Star.
The latest update is a sad reflection of a promising star brought down by mental health issues.
Ozempic has been a buzzword, and some stars have been accused of using the drug. Recently, Cheryl Burke stamped out rumors about her suspected usage of Ozempic.
