A week after the Black Sabbath frontman passed away at 76, a heartwarming moment from 2014 is resurfacing – and Ozzy’s words about Swift are touching fans all over again.
The Story
The story began during a rare shopping trip that led to an unexpectedly sweet encounter with a celebrity. On a 2014 episode of The Talk, Sharon Osbourne recalled how Ozzy lit up after meeting Swift by chance.
Ozzy’s reaction stunned Sharon. “Ozzy came away and said, ‘Finally, out of all these young, new artists, I’ve found a true superstar,’” she shared.
His praise didn’t end there. Sharon revealed that Ozzy compared Swift to timeless icons, telling her, “She’s like Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn – all rolled into one.”
According to Sharon, Ozzy hadn’t encountered anyone who matched Swift’s “aura of elegance and genuine talent.” Swift appeared genuinely moved by the unexpected compliment from rock royalty.
She called his words “the sweetest thing in the world,” though she jokingly added that Ozzy “didn’t say much” during their brief interaction. Sharon quipped, “He was too busy staring at you.”

The story hits even harder in the wake of Ozzy’s passing on July 22. The heavy metal pioneer died just weeks after his final farewell performance at Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham, England, where over 42,000 fans came together to witness history.
For one last time, Ozzy reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates – Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward – and left fans with a moment they’ll never forget.
