Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau sparked buzz with a cozy date night. Just weeks after the singer confirmed her split from longtime partner Orlando Bloom, she stepped out with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for a night in Montreal on Monday and sent the internet into a frenzy.
The pair dined together at Le Violon and appeared to enjoy each other’s company. Katy wore a black and white dress, while Justin opted for a navy shirt, beige jacket, and trousers.
“They had a fantastic evening,” a restaurant spokesperson said, adding that the duo warmly greeted the chef and waitstaff after their meal. “They were super kind and friendly to the staff. It was an absolute pleasure to have them here.”
Split With Orlando
Katy is currently in Canada for her Lifetimes Tour, and recently confirmed her split from fiancé Orlando Bloom after nearly a decade together.
“Katy and Orlando have spent the last several months shifting their relationship to focus on co-parenting,” her rep said. “They will continue to appear together as a family, as their top priority is raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
The couple share four-year-old Daisy Dove, whom they welcomed during the pandemic. They first met in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty, got engaged in 2019, and announced their breakup in June. Despite ending their romantic relationship, they’ve remained close and even vacationed together in Australia during Katy’s tour.
Ex-PM and Ex-Wife
As for Justin Trudeau, he resigned as Prime Minister in January 2025 amid growing political pressure. “Last night over dinner, I told my kids about the decision I’m sharing with you today – I intend to resign as party leader, as Prime Minister,” he announced at the time.
He remained in office until March, when Mike Carney succeeded him. Justin had been single since 2023, when he and wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau announced their separation after 18 years of marriage. They share three children: Xavier (17), Ella-Grace (16), and Hadrien (11).
“After many meaningful and difficult conversations, Sophie and I made the decision to separate,” Justin shared on Instagram. “We remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other. For the well-being of our children, we ask for privacy.”
Katy Perry’s Lifetime Tour has been in the news of late, be it for a malfunction that left her hanging in midair or knocking a Labubu off a fan’s hands.
