The stepson of Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman accidentally shot and killed the famed American TV personality’s stepgrandson over the weekend, according to a report. Gregory Zecca, the stepson of Duane Chapman aka Dog the Bounty Hunter, accidentally shot and killed his 13-year-old son, Anthony, over the weekend.
TMZ first reported that the shooting occurred Saturday night at an apartment in Naples, Florida. Zecca – the son of Chapman’s wife, Francie – reportedly fired the fatal shot in what authorities are calling a tragic accident.
Police told TMZ that officers responded to the shooting call around 8 p.m. local time. Authorities described it as an “isolated incident” and confirmed that no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing.
Family in Mourning
Zecca, who works on Chapman’s bounty hunting team, is Francie’s son from a previous marriage. Francie and Chapman married in 2021 following the deaths of their respective spouses.
“We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragedy and ask for continued prayers as we mourn the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony,” Chapman and Francie said in a statement to TMZ. They also requested privacy during this time of mourning.
Chapman rose to fame with his reality series Dog the Bounty Hunter, which aired for eight seasons between 2004 and 2012 and featured his late wife, Beth Chapman. He later starred in Dog and Beth: On the Hunt on CMT (2013–2015), and Dog’s Most Wanted on WGN America in 2019.

Dog the Bounty Hunter has fathered 13 children in total. He shares his son Christopher with Debbie White, his sons Duane Lee II and Leeland with ex-wife Fonda Sue Darnell, and his sons Wesley, James Robert, and the late Zebadiah with ex-wife Anne Tegnell.
He also fathered Tucker, Lyssa, and the late Barbara with ex-wife Lyssa Rae Brittain. With his late wife Beth, he had daughters Bonnie and Cecily and son Garry.
