More than seven years after dropping her Grammy-winning debut Invasion of Privacy, Cardi B is finally ready to deliver her highly anticipated follow-up. The rapper revealed that her second studio album, Am I The Drama?, will arrive on September 19, 2025.
In true Cardi fashion, the album’s cover is already making waves. Dressed in a bold red bodysuit with a dramatic hood, fishnet tights, and towering platform heels, she poses beneath a cloudy sky, surrounded by soaring crows. It’s theatrical, high-fashion, and unmistakably Cardi.
A day before the announcement, she teased the project with a moody video clip featuring similar gothic imagery. Crows reappear, trailing her through a romantic garden and even landing on the bust of her flowing black gown – hinting at the album’s aesthetic.
Cardi B premiered her latest single, Outside, during a high-energy performance at Cannes Lions last week. Officially released on Friday, the track includes a pointed jab at her ex-husband, Offset, and a bold name-drop of her rumored new flame – New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
She kicked off her Cannes set with Bongos, her 2023 collab with Megan Thee Stallion, and kept the momentum going with a string of hits, including Bodak Yellow, I Like It, Money, Up, and the fan-favorite anthem WAP.
“I’m a different person every single day”
Cardi opened up to Rolling Stone last year about the long wait between albums, explaining that she wanted the new project to meet her own evolving standards and fully reflect where she is now as an artist. In the years since Invasion of Privacy, she also welcomed three children with her now-estranged husband, rapper Offset.
“I’m a different person every single day,” she told the magazine. “When I’m in a good mood with my friends, I’m like, ‘Damn, I want my shit to be played in this club.’ But then if I’m mad at my man, I want to do that kind of song. Then I want to do a pop record. I want to do my sing-y s*it.”
After years of anticipation, Am I The Drama? might just prove the wait was worth it.
