Another strange story has surfaced about Bill Belichick. And this one involves Tom Brady, Antonio Brown, and thousands of dollars’ worth of spoiled milk. The legendary NFL coach shared the tale while appearing on The Pivot podcast with Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder. Clark brought up a chapter from Belichick’s book The Art of Winning, which covers handling star players. When asked to explain the challenges that come with managing big personalities, Belichick told a story from 2019.
It happened during Brown’s brief time with the New England Patriots. The wide receiver played just one game with the team. During that short stint, Brady invited Brown to stay at his home. Trying to bond with his new teammate, Brown ordered a special kind of milk. One that cost $5,000 — for Brady.
Bill Belichick Steps In to Save Brady-Brown Relationship
But something went wrong. The expensive milk was delivered to the team’s mail room. It sat there too long and spoiled. That’s when Belichick stepped in. To keep things smooth between the two players, Belichick replaced the milk. He had the staff purchase another $5,000 batch. The milk was then re-gifted to Brady with a note: “To: Tom. From: Antonio.”

Belichick said it was about doing the right thing. He didn’t want bad milk to sour the chemistry between two of the team’s biggest stars. The move may have helped, at least briefly. Brown’s time in New England didn’t last long. But he and Brady later reunited in Tampa Bay, where they went on to win a Super Bowl together.
As for the milk? It’s still unclear what made it so special. Or why it cost five grand. But it now joins the long list of odd NFL stories tied to Belichick, Brady, and Brown.
